A Brief History of Mexico | Mavimore

Mexico, the home of the Aztecs and Mayans, one of the oldest civilizations in world history, was invaded by the Spanish in 1519. The Spanish, who occupied Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztecs, in 1525, made many discoveries in the Mexican region during this period. The Spanish and Catholic missionaries, who fought a lot with the indigenous people, established colonies in the country. Following this process, which had a significant impact on Mexico’s current multicultural structure, the struggle for independence started in Mexico in the 1800s. After the Mexican Revolution in 1910, a period of revolutions began in the country. During this period, where many uprisings took place, the Zapata Movement also emerged against the government. With the PRI (National Revolutionary Party) coming to power in 1929, diplomatic crises continued violently in the country, which experienced a single-party period. Student movements were also quite intense in these years. The bloody war continued for a long time in the country, where the period between 1940 and 1980 was economically very poor. The Tlatelolco Massacre in 1968 and the Oil Crisis in 1982 negatively affected the country. The end of the single-party era coincides with the 1990s. After the collapse of the Mexican economy in 1994, the country received aid from the United States and went on a rapid rise. In 2000, after 71 years, PAN (National Action Party) came to power instead of PRI, which had lost its status as a single party. Mavimore Turizm is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB.
