You can start your Ayvalık trip by taking a morning walk in the marina. Then, you will eat Ayvalık toast and drink a nice Turkish Coffee with mastic gum overlooking the sea… You will go to Sarımsaklı Beach and take a walk. It’s October, after all, we haven’t been to the beach. No towels, no bags, no umbrellas, no showering, no nothing… Then the road will take you to the Devil’s Table. A corner of heaven, the view is amazing. Its legend is written in the photographs! Please pray that this greenery will not be damaged when I come again… What about the next day? Definitely should be reserved for Bergama… Bergama, which we could not finish after visiting for 3 hours. It is no wonder that human beings are building Burj Khalifa at this time. How did they build these marbles? How did they build these temples? How did they build cities in places where goats would be afraid to go? How did they solve the acoustics of the huge amphitheater they built in those years? If you have had the chance to visit the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, you will find something else surprising here. How? How did they transport these gigantic works from here to Berlin? What kind of foresight was the concept of exhibiting such a city by building a closed museum in the 1800s, and it is a matter of curiosity why the Ottoman Empire actually allowed these works to be taken away… If our Ministry of Culture wanted these world heritage works under UNESCO protection back from Germany And efforts are in vain… If you ask my opinion; I will definitely not give back these artifacts, which I carried out and uncovered all the archaeological studies, prevented the villagers from burning them in lime kilns, built a museum for these artifacts in Berlin after 20 years of work, and moreover, I transported them in agreement with the Ottoman State within the framework of all the laws determined at that time. Let’s start with the morning walk… The weather is beautiful… The sea is clear, the boats are literally floating. Perfect for taking photos 🙂 After a light walk, we spoil ourselves with mastic ice cream and Turkish Coffee. The best thing about going in this season is that everywhere is quiet and you can park your car easily. Then we go to the Devil’s Table. We are in a place that tourists have already discovered and flocked to. The view is perfect, a corner of heaven. I hope it never breaks. Let’s come to Bergama… It is about 1 hour away from Ayvalık by car. Definitely a must see place. In fact, I am very sorry that I came here so late, even though I had visited the Pergomon Museum in Berlin before. It is the center of history, world heritage and one of the most vivid and beautiful examples of the past that our lands host… We spent 3-4 hours here and when we left, we realized from the map that we had only visited half of the city. The entrance fee was 25 TL, regardless of whether you were a student or a full student. If you want to get a museum card; 20 TL for students and 40 TL for non-students. We chose to issue a museum card. With the museum card, you can enter all museums in Turkey for 1 year. You also have to leave the car below. It is possible to go up by cable car and the fee is 8 TL per person. There are so many photos that I can share… If you love walking, reading, exploring and photography, I recommend you spare at least 1 day for this place. It closes at 17:00 and the officers evacuate the city. I have to say that we left the place reluctantly, along with the Japanese tourists, at 17:00; ) You reach the theater section by passing through tunnel-style doors. The door where I am located opens to one of the oldest and most beautiful theater stages in the world. This place hosts 10,000 spectators. The seating rows are divided into wedge-shaped sections by stairs. The stage building was a wooden construction that could only be erected during the play. The wooden pillars were buried in holes that are still clearly visible today. After the play was over, the stage structure was dismantled so as not to obstruct the view of the Temple of Dionysus at the northern end of the terrace. An incredibly deep theater area with a capacity of 10,000 people, with perfect acoustics, that even goats would be afraid to climb… I went down all the stairs to the stage area. My wife stayed upstairs. When I spoke normally from below without shouting, tourists shouted at me in surprise: “Do you have a microphone???” While they were trying to convey their voices to me by shouting, I was just speaking in my normal voice. B.C. It is impossible not to admire this ancient city built in the 4th century. After seeing this place, it is no wonder that today’s people are building Burj Khalifa. It is possible to see the holes I just mentioned in this photo. This is where the stage was set up and the wooden stage legs were placed in these holes. These arches are engineering marvels of the period… Roman engineers built parallel support walls on the main rock on the slope, transverse to each other, in order to get rid of the earth pressure problem for the construction of the huge platform of the sanctuary. There are also few remains of a lime kiln here that survive today. It has been preserved as it is until today in order to see the damage caused. These quarries confirm the claims that Ottoman villagers burned these works in lime kilns while the Germans continued their excavations. Look what happened next… Here are the photos from the Pergamon Museum in Berlin… You will be fascinated by the magic of this historical city in the open air in Bergama. However, the Pergomon Museum welcomes you with a museum that took 20 years to build and was built to its actual size. They offer you the magic of Bergama in an indoor area. As far as I have researched, they both carried out all the excavations and transported the artifacts to Berlin by ships within the framework of the laws enacted by the Ottoman sultan of the time. Now our Ministry of Culture wants it back, but in vain… Mavimore Tourism is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB. Document number: A-8307
