Basic Information About Tajikistan | Mavimore

The State of Tajikistan, officially known as Tajikistan, is surrounded by mountains whose heights vary from 300 meters to 7495 meters. 90% of the country consists of mountains. The highest mountain formation is the Pamir Mountains. The landlocked country is the smallest state in Central Asia in terms of area. The symbol of the country is the statue of Shah Ismail Somoni located in Square Dusti in the middle of the capital Dushanbe. Shah Ismail Somoni is the founder of the country and the national hero of the Tajiks. It also gave its name to the country’s currency. The largest ethnic group in the country is Tajiks. The second ethnic group that continues to exist in the region historically and culturally is the Uzbeks, and the third group is the Russians. After Tajikistan gained its independence, it suffered great material and moral damage due to the civil war in the country. 70% of the people of Tajikistan are poor. Şaşmakom music, which is the world’s first type of music played in a symphonic environment, has an important place in Tajik culture. Tajikistan also has a culture that has gifted many names to the art world. Literary writers Sadriddin Ayni and Mirzo Tursunzade, Malika Sobirova, who introduced Tajik ballet to the world, Malika Kalandarova, who achieved the same success with Tajik dance, filmmakers Ato Muhamedcanov and Boris Kimyagarov are some of them. In the Handwriting Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, there are handwritten works of 13 thousand names belonging to various civilizations. Names that left a great mark in the fields of science, philosophy and literature such as Abu Reyhan Biruni, Firdevsi, Ibn Sina, Nasir-i Husrev, Omar Khayyam are some of them. Tajikistan National Antique Museum is one of the places to visit. The museum reveals details about the country’s history with many works such as traditional objects, old-style cars, paintings by 20th century painters, clothing items, jewelry and carpets. The K. Behzod National Museum, named after Kamoliddin Behzod, a miniature artist who lived in the 15th and 16th centuries, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Gurminj Zavqibekov Museum of Musical Instruments are other important visiting points. In Tajikistan, where 65 tourism companies operate, in addition to its natural beauties, the Botanical Garden, the National Museum of Antiquities and Hisar Castle are among the must-see places.
