French lands, which emerged on the stage of history with the settlement of the Celts in the Iron Age, came under the rule of the Holy Roman Empire in 51 BC. The French Kingdom was established by the Franks in the lands captured by the Frankish tribe during the attacks of the barbarian tribes. In the late Middle Ages, as the winner of the Hundred Years’ War against the British, France increased its influence throughout Europe and strengthened the centralized absolute monarchy structure. It was during the time of Louis XIV that France, which was negatively affected by the sectarian wars of the 16th century, became a serious dominant power in political, cultural and military terms. The kingdom, which collapsed with the French Revolution in 1789, became one of the first republics in the world by adopting the republican regime. After coming to power, Napoleon abolished the republic and declared himself Emperor of the French. After the long Napoleonic Wars, the kingdom evolved again into an absolute monarchy and into a constitutional monarchy with a constitution in 1830. France went through a similar process in the following period and became a republic for the third time in 1870. France, which became an important colonial power in the 19th century, survived World War I with victory. The regime collapsed in France, which was occupied by the Nazi regime in World War II. After the occupation was lifted, the republic was declared for the fourth time. This regime also collapsed during the Algerian War. The republic, which was finally declared for the fifth time by Charles de Gaulle in 1958, still exists today. Mavimore Turizm is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB. Document number: A-8307
