Kosovo is not a single administratively structured country. There are three different structures: the Republic of Kosovo, which unilaterally declared its independence in 2008, the structure accepted by NATO’s management in the region (UNMIK), and the Republic of Serbia, which still claims rights over Kosovo. Kosovo has 7 cities. The first of these is Pristina, which is both the capital and the most populous city. The village of Gračanica, located in the south of the country and on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is also in these lands. Prizren, which was the capital of the Serbian Empire in the 14th century, is the most historical city in Kosovo. Prizren, which is also the second most populous city in Kosovo, means “big castle”. Another city, Gjakova, is the city that suffered the most damage in the Kosovo War. Today, the city has the distinction of being the city where the best nightlife alternatives are offered. Other cities of Kosovo are Ferizaj, Peja, Gjilan, Podujeva, Mitrovica and Vycitrin. Mavimore Turizm is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB. Document number: A-8307
