Climate and Weather in India | Mavimore

As a country that spreads longitudinally, there is climatic diversity in the northern and southern regions of India due to latitude differences. The Himalayan Valleys in the north have a temperate climate. Deccan, located at the other end of the country, has a tropical climate. Due to its special geographical conditions, India, which is located in the monsoon climate zone, experiences heavy downpours during the monsoon period. Towards the end of May, the monsoon begins to show its first signs, enters the country from the southern coasts in the first week of June and covers the entire country in July. Monsoon winds come to the country from the southwest, but from time to time winds from the northeast can cause rainfall on the southeastern coasts until October and even early December. In the central and southern parts of the country, the temperature begins to rise from mid-February, the rise continues in April and May, and the temperature reaches its highest temperature in June. During these months, the temperature in south-central India is around 40-45°C. High temperatures are also seen in the southern states, with humidity reaching 85 percent.
