Mexico, which hosts many festivals throughout the year, is also famous for its carnivals. Their most famous and important carnival, Carnival Huejotzingo, has been held every February since 1868. At the carnival held in the city of Puebla, historical events are reenacted. Their second largest carnival, the Iztapalapa Carnival, is dedicated to the oldest communities in the country. Dances, performances and music were intertwined in the festival, which hosted approximately 200 thousand participants. Acafest, one of the largest music festivals in the country, is held in Acapulco every May. This huge festival, where music continues 24 hours a day, is one of the biggest music events in Latin America. Since Mexico is a country famous for its cuisine, of course it wouldn’t be possible without food festivals. The Gulaguetta Festival held in Oaxaca is the largest of these. Another food festival is held in Puerto Vallarta every November. Cheese and wine tastings are held within the scope of the festival, which can be described as a kind of gourmet festival. The festival hosted 35 thousand visitors last year. The country’s most important theater festival, Festival Internacional Cervantio, is dedicated to Cervantes. Spanish theater plays are performed at the festival, which is also held in Guanajuato. The festival, which hosts events in approximately 100 different venues, is held in October. The Mexican International Film Festival is held annually in Mexico City. The event, which is the most popular film festival in Latin America, screens films in many local and foreign genres. The festival, held every year in February, also has a competition section. Mavimore Turizm is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB. Document number: A-8307
