Half of the Jordanian population consists of Palestinians. Due to the wars in neighboring countries, there are no cultural differences or disharmony between ethnic groups in the receiving country. It is possible to find cafes and pubs serving beer on the streets of Jordan. The majority of the country’s people can speak English. There is generally a peaceful atmosphere in the country and the country has not been much affected by the Arab Spring. However, in Amman, the capital of the country, every Friday a march is held from in front of the Al-Huseyni Mosque to the municipality square, demanding that the king give up some of his powers.
