Koh Samui Travel Guide: A Little Paradise: Koh Samui | Mavimore

Actually, I don’t know where to start telling about Thailand’s Koh Samui Island, which is famous for its islands… Koh Samui Island is in the Gulf of Thailand and is approximately 15 km away from the land. Our journey started with Singapore Airlines. Unfortunately, we had a lot of trouble with Singapore Airlines before the trip… When it came time to choose our seats with 24 hours left before online check-in, we couldn’t even find a seat to choose. Singapore Airlines has placed everyone as they wish, so all seats appear to be occupied online. Their answer made us even more angry. You’re lucky to be sitting next to each other! You should contact the agency where you bought your tickets in advance and reserve your seats months in advance 🙂 Let’s talk about how the journey went… We never expected it to be this easy, we had prepared ourselves for a very boring, tiring and uncomfortable journey. The share of his socks is huge 🙂 There was a constant meal service on the plane; breakfast, dinner, fruit, drinks, nuts etc. After we had our dinner, we took our pillows and blankets and had a good sleep. Our transfer stop is Singapore. Before leaving Singapore Airport, we start waiting for our flight that will take us to the island. Singapore Airport is very big, we will have time to tell about Singapore and the airport on our return, for now we should get to the island we are eagerly waiting for as soon as possible 🙂 The colorful passenger cars and planes that make you feel like you are in an amusement park, you realize the difference of Koh Samui as soon as you get off the plane 🙂 The airport does not feel like an airport, it feels like you are in the garden of the hotel. It gives you greenery everywhere, flowers as far as the eye can see… Our hotel consists of dozens of small bungalows in a very natural environment, right by the sea. It is forbidden to erect a building higher than a coconut tree on Samui. We are in such a natural environment that insects and lizards are everywhere, guests of our room… The sea is as blue as it can be, the sand is so white and the surroundings are green… I wonder if we are in heaven. We will visit Samui with a guide. By the way, we are staying in the Chaweng area. This is the heart of Koh Samui, but it also smells bad. We are currently expecting monsoon rains. It starts after the 15th of the month, I can’t help but wonder how many days we will have without rain. Is everything so perfect, of course not 🙂 The air is so humid that I can’t even breathe, I thought I was going to suffocate for a moment. It’s hot and it’s a smell that makes us wish we were cursed for the sewage problems in the Chaweng area where we were staying. It makes you feel like that smell comes from shops where local food is made… Therefore, you don’t want to go in and eat. In the morning, the street disappointed us, we thought about how we would spend a week here, but of course we couldn’t say this to each other 🙂 Later we confessed this to each other 🙂 There is a huge difference between day and night. In the centers, the street you walk during the day is very difficult if you try to walk on the street at night. You may think you’re going somewhere else. 1) Wat Phra Yai: This Buddhist temple, the most well-known place on the island, houses the 15-meter Big Buddha statue. You can notice this structure even when landing on a plane. By ringing the bells around the statue, you are driving evil spirits away from the temple. As you can see, our feet are bare, at that moment we realized that we had to enter 90% of Samui without shoes 🙂 Wat Khunaram: How many times is it possible to see a mummified Buddhist monk? The story of this priest is as follows: Phra Khru Samathakittikhun, who devoted himself to the life of a priest after the age of 50, learned Buddhist meditation and disciplines in the monastery where he stayed for 20 years. In his last week before he dies, he stops eating and speaking and goes into a state of deep meditation. He was later found dead in this state. According to the belief there, after his simple life, he lived a long life with healthy foods and long meditations, and his body continued to remain healthy even after his death. Reportedly, nothing was done for the priest’s body and it has remained the same since 1973. He wore sunglasses out of respect, as his eyes were missing. Hin Ta and Hin Yai: These rocks, known as grandmother and grandfather, are located in the south of the island. The interesting thing about the rocks is that they have penis and vagina shapes. The fisherman and his wife, who supposedly loved each other very much, were swept away by a wave and drowned, and the sea carved the rocks in their memory. When you calculate it in TL, a 1-hour foot massage corresponds to 12 TL:) We started sleeping during the massage, and for a while we even thought why are we paying for the hotel? It would be cheaper if we stayed at the massage parlor. 🙂 Not to make you jealous, when it costs 12 TL, you even want to have it done at breakfast 🙂 We highly recommend Leelawadee Spa. It’s a day of lazing around on Chaweng beach with another friend who will join us from Istanbul tomorrow. I plan to tell you about the beach only with photos, the photos will be enough to describe the magnificence 🙂 The crabs are ready for dinner 🙂 Of course, is it possible to be in such a place and not get enough of seafood? These tiger shrimps are a little smaller 🙂 what we saw and ate was incredibly delicious at 30 cm in size. You can get your fill of fruit on this paradise island. Shrimp coconut soup is incredible, you should definitely try it. If they asked if there was a heaven on earth, I would probably say this is it. Only photos can tell you about this place. KO TAO used to be a place where no one lived and was frequented only by fishermen. Since it is 70 km away from the mainland, it was once a place where political prisoners were kept. There are small signs everywhere on the beach; DANGER COCONUTS. No joke, if a coconut fell on your head from that high, it would definitely kill you. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention. The most dangerous thing on the island… We didn’t stay on the island because there wasn’t even electricity at night 🙂 You should definitely go and see it. I leave you with the photos of Ko Tao, Koh Nang Yuan. The boats return to Koh Samui early because there is a low tide (we did not experience it). We returned to Koh Samui in the evening. We go to a market where local women cook, discovered by our friend from Istanbul, to eat:) You choose your own fish. The Red Snapper plate you see costs around 5 TL. On our way to Ko Tao, we took a speed boat and, due to our inexperience, we went and sat in the front. The boat beat us so hard that we were left screaming and bruised all over. I’m glad we chose to tour today by boat, I could never take that beating a second time 🙂 What did we do in Ang Thong National Marine Park? We went around canoeing and snorkeling. The island was very cute and very enjoyable 🙂 Many other islets in the region consist of many small islets that are national parks and are under special protection. This place has been declared a museum. As you can see, human beings have even turned these giant mammoth-like animals into monkeys 🙂 But I fed them with my own hands and looked at them, they are very beautiful… By the way, bargain very well, we got 3 people on the elephant for the price of almost 1 person 🙂 After a few days, you become a very hard bargainer. . Secret Buddha Garden, this garden was built in 1976 by a farmer named Nim Thongsuk. The garden is Uncle Nimm’s Garden. I don’t know if there is anyone who goes here a lot, or rather, can find it. We found it partly thanks to my persistence, and this was definitely the place that impressed me the most. Cabaret Shows start every 1 hour starting from 20.30. There is no entrance fee here, you just pay for your drink. I think you should take photos before entering the show, they charge you to have them taken at the end of the show 🙂 At the end of the Cabaret Show, after entering the massage parlour, all you have to do is go to the hotel and sleep. By the way, it has been raining at night for a few days now 🙂 let’s see when we will catch it. What is sold in the kiosk we know in the bazaar? Gasoline! : ) My favorite drink: ) Starting a new day: ) And rain was what we were waiting for… But it’s not rain as you expected, it doesn’t pour out of a glass, this rain drains from a bucket or even a fire hose 🙂 We were going to go to the waterfall anyway, an interesting day is waiting for us. . You drive up to the waterfall and park your car. If you want to continue later, you have to walk through the forest for about 30 minutes. We climbed despite the insects, rain and all the difficult conditions. We recommend that you wear sports shoes. Because you climb in all kinds of difficult conditions such as rocks, soil, forest. I’m sure we wouldn’t have enjoyed it this much if we climbed on a normal day. It was raining like crazy and we sweated even when we were almost wet. If you are wondering whether the waterfall is worth seeing, I would say that if it is raining, you should definitely climb it 🙂 We could not take a photo of the waterfall because we could not carry a bag or an electronic device, as it was raining like a bucket. We need to dry off and continue the day where we left off. Of course, we left the hotel with a bag of spare clothes after seeing the rain. We don’t know how many times we will get wet. The next stop is Fisherman’s Village… It is very close to the Bophut area. We went here both during the day and in the evening. It is a popular area, all the restaurants are right next to the sea. Of course, we don’t stop without tasting everything we see 🙂 Are we so romantic? 🙂 We dried off, of course, and we are in a good mood… You cannot be protected from the rain here, even with rain boots. The best thing to do is to walk barefoot or in slippers 🙂 Be careful with coconuts, it is very dangerous to fall on your head. Always be on the lookout. You must walk. To summarize, the most popular area in Koh Samui is Chaweng area, but there is really no such thing as sewage, it always smells. It rained and the smell faded a little. We do not return without doing what; We don’t leave without getting a massage every evening, going to Ko Tao, eating seafood until we burst, having a great adventure in the rain, riding an elephant, drinking shrimp coconut soup, and trying each of the fruits 🙂 You can have different food experiences. Although he was strong and very prejudiced, even he found many of the things he tried very successful. There was a place that attracted our attention; It’s a local restaurant in the Chaweng area, packed to the brim with people waiting in line to eat at the door. If we stayed for 40 days, we wouldn’t go in and eat. Even though it looks very neglected and dirty from the outside… In other words, it is very unprotected, imagine that you are accompanied by a herd of lizards walking on the ceiling. The outside of the pots are pitch black 🙂 but how can it be so crowded! If you see a place in that area with a queue to go in and eat, it’s definitely worth going in and waiting. I am sure you will eat the most delicious coconut soup and delicious tiger shrimp there. Mavimore Turizm is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB. Document number: A-8307
