When viewed from the outside, Meis Island resembles a theater decoration. MEIS is a peaceful island right next to us. Every time we went to Kaş, we would see Meis from the hotel room we stayed in. On a holiday when we had a visa and went to Kaş, we thought why are we stopping? 🙂 We met with Meis Express in the center of Kaş the day before and left our passports. You can reach Meis Island with a 30-minute ferry ride. A visa is required, of course. The island is so close to Kaş that you can talk to Turkcell without any problems. They call Meis “Eye of Kaş”. Actually, the source of income of Meis Island is tourists coming from Kaş. There is no drinking water on the island. The people of Meis Island do all their shopping in Kaş. So this time we did not experience the internet package crisis on Güçlü’s phone bill after every trip abroad. Sorry Turkcell, this is from you too 🙂 As we approached the island by ferry, we looked at each other and said how small this place is. While I was saying “This place will be finished in an hour”, Güçlü said “it won’t even take 10 minutes” and showed me the restaurant with bougainvilleas where we will have dinner at the end of our trip:) The houses are colorful, the water is deep blue and the sky is bright… I am wondering whether I should stand and watch this theater decor for hours, or should I go on stage and act? I didn’t know if it was my part to play 🙂 When we first went to Meis, the population of the island was 406 people, it’s like a joke 🙂 When we went, we saw 50 people, let’s not lie. 406 people live on our island, but my dear husband took this photo saying that the important thing is not quantity, but quality. Of course, I had to chase around the island with my pallet bag in my hand… So I posed and waited for someone to film me 🙂 After touring the island and visiting the side streets, we made a deal with one of the taxi boats that went to the Blue Cave, which we had previously researched. There was another couple with us. We had a very wet 15-minute journey 🙂 If the water is not too high, we will enter the cave with the Zodiac boat. If the water is high, we will have to swim into the cave. Luckily the water wasn’t too high. After lying down inside the Zodiac, we were able to enter the interior without any damage. After we entered the water, the captain said: “If you see a seal, do not panic.” It would have been better if you didn’t say it, captain, wouldn’t there be panic over this statement? 🙂 You can both sit and have a drink in the port and swim with Caretta. The water is so clean and clear… After returning from the Blue Cave, we drank coffee and enjoyed the sun. We traveled a lot, we were very tired, and of course the time we had been looking forward to had arrived. Lazarakis Restaurant is a place we would definitely recommend. Güçlü was in a good mood, he opened the ouzo and told about the appetizers… My husband is a lover of Greek cuisine. It’s not like you can’t fall in love with them… The ones in the photo are Simi Shrimps… When Güçlü first started, he cut off their legs and tails and ate them. Then he realized that it was not going to happen, his arms and legs were eaten like nothing. Well, picking them would be an insult to the shrimp. We are in a good mood; Our view and our conversation were wonderful. What more could we want? 🙂 Ehhh, after drinking 2 20-packs of ouzo, everything is fine for Güçlü 🙂 When it was time to return, we got on the ferry talking about what a wonderful day we had.
