Singapore City Travel Guide: An Island City: Singapore | Mavimore

For me, airports are the first step in getting back on the road for a new discovery or a new adventure. Maybe many of you think differently… When you land at Changi Airport, you encounter a perfect ambiance. The most perfectly designed airport I have ever seen. It is enough to spend a few hours here to understand why the airport has been chosen as the best airport in the world many times. Singapore Changi Airport, which bears the traces of the exotic elements of the Far East, is a place that will make you miss your plane:) Of course, we have no intention of missing our flight because we were tired after wandering around all day 🙂 The airport is so big that it is necessary to use the train between the terminals. Transportation at the airport is also fast and very practical. When you land at Singapore Airport, the first thing you need to do is find an exchange office and buy Singapore dollars. What is really surprising when you leave Singapore Airport is that if you had a watermelon seed in your hand, you would think for a week before throwing it on the ground 🙂 It is so clean and tidy that it is impossible not to keep up with this order. There are very few people and very few vehicles on the city. One cannot help but wonder where all these people are. But when you go down to the city to use the metro, the crowd you see is surprising 🙂 Almost all transportation is provided by metro. It takes 11 hours to approach Singapore from Istanbul. We left the airport, our tour guide was in the hands of my dear husband Güçlü, and we took notes. The weather conditions were unfavorable. The weather is sometimes cloudy and clear. It is certain that we will get rain in Singapore, but we do not know at what time of day 🙂 The metro works interestingly, we encountered a system that we have not encountered anywhere before. You click on the station you want to go to and the system shows the price accordingly. You put the indicated amount of money into the machine and take the card. There is a fine of 1000 Singapore dollars for those who pollute the floor, do not spit on the ground or throw your butts on the ground. Chewing gum on the street is prohibited in this country 🙂 Best not to take it with you. Yes, I didn’t understand it when I first heard it, but it is prohibited. It is not even known exactly why it is banned 🙂 There are shopping malls everywhere in Singapore. Most famous brands etc. You can find whatever you are looking for, it’s like a shopping paradise. I managed to return without taking anything, my husband must be proud of me 🙂 One side of the Singapore River is called Clarke Quay and the other side is called Boat Quay. The Singapore River flows through the heart of the city. There are fish restaurants and bars on the edge. Let’s see what we did in Singapore… Sentosa Island is a touristic island connected to Singapore by bridge and cable car. Since we didn’t have time, we took the cable car and came back, we didn’t have the chance to visit the island. We have 10 hours to visit Singapore and we have to be content with that. Here are the photos we took from the cable car… Orchard Road is a shopping mall paradise that hosts many luxury brands. Something I learned about Singapore seemed interesting to me and I wanted to share it. Everyone had a business card; Business cards were given with two hands and taken with both hands. It was customary to read and examine the card immediately and giving it with both hands was a sign of respect… Little India, the ferris wheel called Singapore Flyer. This is the “Little India” in Singapore. You may think you are in India, right in the heart of Little India. Small shops lined up side by side, places selling CDs, fabric shops, incense shops, small temples… Frankly, this place scared me a lot, maybe because of our bad luck… It was a Sunday and it was very crowded, hundreds of half-naked men walking around, people walking around barefoot, pushing and shoving, filth… I had never imagined such a place in Singapore. Frankly, it’s incredible, it’s like another country 🙂 It was a different experience for us. Unfortunately, in a beautiful city like Singapore, Indian Quarter is not very good for people. Chinatown Singapore’s Chinatown is a place in Singapore where you can find all kinds of goods cheaply and feel like you are somewhere in China. We traveled all over Singapore by metro. My dear husband has never had a habit of asking for directions. It’s more fun to get lost:) Streets of Singapore… Mavimore Tourism is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB. Document number: A-8307
