The city of Turin, on the banks of the Po River, BC. It was founded in 300. I felt like I had met a friend when I saw the Po River, as it always comes up in crosswords when a river in Italy is mentioned. In Turin, both industry and nature are intertwined. It is a considerably larger city than Verona and the largest industrial center in Italy. In particular, it ranks first in car production and Fiat brand cars are produced here. For car enthusiasts, there is a car museum at the entrance of the city. The University of Turin is one of the oldest universities, founded in the 13th century. The 384-meter tall tower, also called the Eiffel Tower of Italy, is in this city. The city is surrounded by walls dating back to the time of Caesar. During World War II, 1/3 of the city was destroyed. That’s why most of the buildings are new. It was dark when we arrived in Turin. However, we were still fascinated by the illuminated parks, bridges, squares on the banks of the Po River, the young people gathered there, and the cafes. Although I am not a football fan, I learned about Torino thanks to our national football player Hakan Şükür, but none of us had ever guessed that Torino was such a colorful and big city. Torino’s football team also has an interesting and sad story. Italy, which was defeated in World War II, embraces football to overcome the demoralization. Torino, which was very successful in the 1940s, lost 18 of its players in a plane crash on May 4, 1949, and in the rest of the league, Torino’s PAF players led the team to the championship. We wake up early in the morning and after breakfast we go to Zafer Street, one of the most important historical places in Turin. This street and the monuments on it were built after World War II. Indeed, the horrors of war are reflected on the faces of each soldier in the monuments. This street opens to the royal square. In this square there are castles built in the 12th century. It is so early in the morning that there are only us and the garbage collectors sweeping the floor. Since the shops are closed, we cannot add the Torino to the magnets we buy from the cities of the countries we visit, which is almost our only luxury, it stays inside us. We are passing by the banks of the Po River, there are boats and young people rowing. The places we see at night are even more beautiful during the day. As the river winds its way, the parks, green areas and buildings around it give us a visual feast. We can give a few hotel recommendations in Turin. If you want to visit Turin quickly and effectively, it will be beneficial to stay close to the historical center. Providing service in this region, in a building dating from the 17th century, NH Collection Torino Piazza Carlina is one of the hotels that should be at the top of your preference list. The hotel is located a 10-minute walk from Piazza Vittorio Veneto and the Royal Palace. As an alternative to this hotel, you can also consider Hotel Des Artistes and Hotel Amadeus E Teatro in the same location. While these hotels are close to many tourist attractions, they are also located in the city’s entertainment venues, restaurants and many shops. It is also 700 meters from the famous Regio Theatre. Apart from these hotel recommendations, you can go to booking.com to browse other hotel options in Turin and make a reservation if you wish. Mavimore Turizm is a travel agency registered with TÜRSAB.
